Positive Futures

Positive Futures is a youth inclusion programme working with young people to motivate and promote positive behaviour. The programme provides a range of weekly sports and alternative activities for young people from 10 -19 years across Basildon. The programme encourages young people to take part in street projects on local estates to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. In addition to the weekly sessions Positive Futures runs holiday events including basketball and football tournaments, skatepark events, live sound events including DJ workshops and live music from local young bands, as well as fishing trips to adventure days.

Future Sounds is an opportunity for young people 13 to 18 years to gain accredited music qualifications in music production, singing & song writing and live sound engineering. The 30 hour courses are delivered by Point Blank London, a specialist music college based in London. The free courses are run from the Towngate Theatre in Basildon as part of an afterschool programme funded by Youth Music.
