Basildon Council are offering the opportunity for local women to get back in to sport through the Back 2 Netball campaign.
For many people, sport at school was the highlight of the week. However when work, family or other commitments come up it is easy to let the sports we enjoyed slip. Basildon Council has come to the rescue to offer the opportunity to dig out the sports kit and get back into sport again in a friendly, non-competitive environment.
The Back 2 Netball sessions are running every Thursday from 9.30am - 11am at the Markhams Chase Leisure Centre and 7.30pm - 8.30pm at Gloucester Park. They are open to all women over the age of 16 and all abilities are welcome. For further information contact Basildon LeisureLine on 01268 465443.
Councillor Kevin Blake, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Arts, said: "This is a great opportunity for women to get back in to netball, improve your fitness and socialise with others. It is very easy to drop out of playing a sport that we love when other commitments and responsibilities come up but I would encourage women to come and give it a go".
