Play Rangers Leap In Numbers!

The free to attend Play Rangers scheme run by Basildon District Council has seen a huge leap in numbers following the introduction of new sessions.
1600 children took part in the scheme between April and June of 2010 compared with 164 in the same period in 2009.
Councillor Kevin Blake, Cabinet Member for Arts and Leisure said "Play Rangers is a scheme which we offer free to children within the district. It's a great opportunity for youngsters to be active, learn new skills and have fun through playing together. We have seen a huge rise in the number of children taking part, but we want to build on this and I would encourage any families who haven't heard about Play Rangers to get in touch and give it a go."
The scheme enables children to engage and interact with each other, learn social skills and build an inclusive community whilst having fun with various activities.

The Play Rangers Summer programme will run from the 24 July - 31 August and is available at various locations throughout the week from 11am - 3pm.

Monday - Northlands Park and Swan Mead Park
Tuesday - Markhams Chase and Noak Bridge
Wednesday - Northlands Park and Wickford Memorial
