Half Term fun at Northlands Park
Northlands Park is the place to be next week as Play Rangers and Street 20 cricket are both on offer in the park this half term.
The Basildon Council Play Ranger Scheme will be running during the half term for the first time. The scheme which has been running weekend sessions at other locations within the district encourages participation and provides an opportunity for children to interact with each other and learn social skills through play.
Supported by the lottery, the half term session will be delivered from 11am -3pm Monday to Friday at Northlands Park and is free to attend.
This half term will also see specialist Street 20 cricket coaches at Northlands Park delivering sessions on both Thursday and Friday from 12-2pm. A new and exciting game of cricket aimed at older children, each game lasts a maximum of 20 legal balls per team or until the batting team is out.
Councillor Kevin Blake, Cabinet Member for Leisure and the Arts, said: "There is something at Northlands Park for younger and older children this half term. The Play Rangers has proved a huge hit with children within the district and the Street 20 cricket is a great new game which im sure will prove a big hit."
