Crowds Left Spellbound


The Basildon Sporting Village opening weekend was host to sporting celebrities and Olympic stars both past and present such as Swimming stars Mark Foster and Duncan Goodhew and football Legend Neville Southhall, with Britain's Got Talent Winners 'SpellBound' the highlight of the show.

Thousands of people got involved in free taster sessions including badminton, climbing and Zumba classes just to name a few. With hundreds taking part in the different tournaments that were on offer including Get Back to netball, hockey and football.

The Basildon Sporting Village facilities include:

  • 50 metre swimming pool able to split into two 25m community pools with seating
    for over 400
